Columbia SC Spring Engagement
Arin and Jessica

Columbia spring engagement

Happy Friday, friends! I’m so excited to share with you Jessica and Arin’s Columbia SC spring engagement session today! These two are *totally* made for each other, and they were such naturals in front of the camera for me. I’m so glad they choose to have a spring engagement session in Columbia before their July wedding, because, really what’s better than pretty morning light and bright blooms in the background of each image??

Arin and Jessica cuddled and laughed for me all morning, and we ended the session with a few cold brews at Liberty on the Lake in Irmo, South Carolina. Basically, what I mean to say isssss, this Columbia SC engagement session is perfect in every way, haha! Beer and a cute couple?!?! SIGN ME UP!!!

So000, enough of me rambling, and I hope you enjoy seeing my favorite frames from Jessica and Arin’s Columbia SC spring engagement session, and keep reading to hear the CUTEST story about how these two cuties met and started dating!

From Jessica:

“When Arin moved to South Carolina in 2011, he started going to the Seacoast Irmo campus on the recommendation of a friend of a friend. He briefly stopped going to Seacoast when he moved to Lexington, with the hopes of finding something closer to his new house. He didn’t find anything he liked better, so he returned to Seacoast Irmo. I moved to South Carolina in 2013 to start teaching at AC Flora High School in Columbia. On the very first day of school for teachers, I met another teacher named Madison, who told me about Seacoast because she sang in the worship band. Madison invited me, and I’ve has been going ever since. Madison and I always sat in the same area of the sanctuary. Arin always sat in the same area of the sanctuary. Somehow, we never noticed each other, until one random Sunday in October or November, when Arin sat in the pew directly in front of me. After the worship songs and the introduction from the pastor, everyone was asked to greet those around them…and that’s how it all began.”

“Arin and I often would talk after the worship songs/before the start of the message, as well as after service. With us both being shy introverts, the conversations were short and sweet. Still, we talked and slowly began to get to know each other. Not long after we met, it was the last Sunday before my winter break started, over which I would be going back home. Arin knew I was a teacher, so he asked what I was doing for her break. I told him that I was going back home, and then realized I had never said where “home” was. I added that I am from Michigan, to which he surprisingly responded that he was, too! We both thought to ourselves that this was a strange coincidence. Arin wished me a good break and left; I played on her phone while waiting for my church friends to finish packing up their worship band equipment so we could head to lunch. Suddenly, Arin was back! He asked me what I was doing, so I told him, and he said that he had come back to ask me to go to lunch with him.”

Now here is where the stories differ slightly…

Jessica says, “In my head, I was thinking that I would really like to go to lunch with him, but I also knew that this was my last opportunity to see my new friends for at least three weeks! I thought of a compromise that he could join us for lunch. Instead of expressing all of this out loud, I only offered him the compromise and secretly hoped he’d ask me out again some other time.”

And Arin says, “I went to the bathroom and thought that the coincidence of us both being from Michigan was too strange, so I decided to go back in and ask her to lunch. She invited me to lunch with her friends instead, which I took as the cue that she wasn’t interested in anything more than a friendship.”

“Skip forward almost an entire year later, after questions from his mom, a long-awaited Facebook friendship, talking over Facebook chat and eventually over text message, Arin finally finally finally asked me out (again). This time I said yes!”

So, how CUTE is that?! I’m so glad Arin asked for another date, aren’t you?!

One of my favorites…

And Jessica and Arin brought along these SUPER cute shirts a family member gifted them for Christmas! engagement photo matching tshirts

Arin LOVES cookies and milk, so these little t-shirts were perfect for them! Cute, right?!

And then we wrapped up their spring engagement session with a few portraits on out on Lake Murray and with two cold brews at Liberty on the Lake! This was the location of Jessica and Arin’s first REAL date, and I loved being able to get back here with them for their spring engagement session in Columbia, SC.Liberty on the Lake engagement Liberty on the Lake engagement Liberty on the Lake engagement Liberty on the Lake engagement

You did such a great job on the pictures. Jessica is my niece and my HEART, as well as her twin sister Sara and brother Edward. I couldn’t be prouder of all of them. Her Uncle Bob and I are so excited for the wedding and couldn’t be happier with her soon to be husband Arin. Thank-you for sharing the pictures and having the comment section on here.
