701 Whaley Wedding Photos
Melanie & Jacob

Today I’m excited to share with you Melanie and Jacobs 701 Whaley wedding photos! Their wedding day was held on a rainy Friday in November, but the weather did not take away from the day one bit! I hope you enjoy walking through a few of my favorite frames from this 701 Whaley wedding and hearing more about how Melanie and Jacob’s day progressed.

Preparation & The Details

Melanie got ready for her wedding day with her mom and a few close friends. They laughed and chatted as my team and I photographed the couples’ details. One of my favorite things about Melanie and Jacob is how unafraid they were to make their wedding day and their wedding experience and uniquely theirs. They did this in many different ways throughout their day, and one example of that, is that Melanie doesn’t have an engagement ring! She and Jacob decided to get married after a few heartfelt conversations, and an engagement ring just was not a necessary for their love story. I absolutely love to hear when my couples decide to do something in regards to their wedding experience that breaks with tradition, but is perfect for them. I think Melanie’s single wedding band is a perfect example of that, and an example of how they have fearlessly decided to do this whole marriage thing their way.

A few beers with the Groomsmen

Jacob got ready for his wedding day surrounded by few of his closest guy friends, and they chatted and laughed over beers while we worked through their portraits together. Thankfully 701 Whaley provides both inside and outside portrait locations in case it rains on your wedding day! You would never know from looking at these portraits that Melanie and Jacob’s day had some dark and dreary weather!

The First Look

I’m so thankful that the couple decided to participate in a first look before their ceremony to spend a private moment together and complete their portraits before their vows. Melanie and Jacob were both so giddy and excited to see each other on their wedding day, and I do not think we took one serious photo! They snuggled and giggled throughout our entire portrait time, and I honestly do not have one complaint about that. Ha! Their wedding photos reflect how truly joyful they are as a couple and their joy due to finally being together on their wedding day.

A Friday evening ceremony

After wrapping up portraits with the couple and their wedding party, we moved into their evening ceremony! It was short and sweet; a quick ceremony with a few tearful vows and quite a few laughs. In my opinion, Melanie and Jacob’s 701 Whaley wedding ceremony was absolutely perfect for them. Not too much, not too little; it was just right.

The Reception

After the couple were pronounced Mr. and Mrs., the party began! Melanie and Jacob opted to serve their guests wings and tacos from Capital City Catering at their reception. It was the perfect choice for them and their sweet Friday night wedding at 701 Whaley in Columbia, South Carolina!

Danced the Night Away

The couple danced the night away with their friends and family to the mixes of DJ Marky Munro. They cut a few cakes from Bonnie Brunt Cakes to celebrate the beginning of their marriage, and in true Jacob fashion, found themselves covered and icing by the end of it! They then wrapped up the night with a gorgeous sparkle exit and sealed the night with a kiss out 701.

Ended with a Sparkler Exit
