Today, I am excited to share with you Tim and Michaela’s Aiken SC wedding photos! Tim and Michaela got married two weeks ago at St. Mary’s Help of Christians in Aiken. They joined their lives together in the most beautiful ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family. I hope you enjoy this little peek into my favorite frames from their wedding day!

Michaela and Tim met in 2016 and have been dating ever since; they knew early on in their relationship that they were perfect for each other. You might recognize them from their Aiken SC engagement photos from earlier last month on the blog! The couple planned a wedding day that reflected the intimacy of their relationship and the importance of their friends and family in their lives.

Michaela got ready with her bridesmaids, her mom, and her aunt while Tim prepared for his wedding day with his groomsmen and friends in a building near the church. The couple opted to not see each other before the ceremony, and that made their beautiful traditional Catholic ceremony so much more special.

Michaela and Tim planned to give their August summer wedding a bit of a beachy vibe in the countryside (see what I did there?) and used turquoise and coral accents to give their photos that signature pop of color summer is known for. Michaela and Tim invited their friends and family to a wedding reception at Newberry Hall, a local venue down the street from their church. They served delicious cake and tacos for their guests and enjoyed a few dances. All-in-all, Tim and Michaela’s wedding was beautiful and emotional with special moments between the bride and her dad and the couple during their portraits.

Michaela wore her grandmother’s earrings and ring on her wedding day to commemorate her memory and have a little piece of her grandmother there with her.

The couple wrote each other letters to read on before their ceremony to steady a few nerves and convey how excited they were to marry the other. Both of them read their letters slowly, soaking in every word with a smile on their face. I loved how these letters acted in place of a ‘First Look’ on their day. Are you even surprised I’m a sucker for love letters? Ha! 

Michaela opted to reveal her wedding day look and dress to her father right before the ceremony. Her dad immediately burst into tears when he saw her! It was the sweetest moment and totally a tear-jerker.

How GORGEOUS is Saint Mary’s Help of Christians?! I absolutely love seeing the different types of ceremonies my couples have on their wedding days. Every single union amidst different faiths and cultures are beautiful in their own special way. 

While we were photographing the couple’s portraits, the wind began to blow and stir up Michaela‘s gown in the most perfect way. I am so in love with how her gown and veil moved in a few of these photos.
