Though this Columbia, South Carolina wedding photographer wasn’t able to attend this day, our lovely JHP associate, Savannah captured all the goodies! The Details

Let me start out by saying that I LOVED Morgan and Mike’s details. Together they have a passion for fishing and it’s something so sweet that they bond over. They made sure to add those sweet details right into their wedding details. When Savannah arrived to Morgan’s grandparent’s house, she jumped right into capturing these details that totally set the tone for this at home summer evening wedding in Lexington, South Carolina. Good job on the ring, Mike!

Getting Ready

Before we were to head to the second home for this at home summer evening wedding, Morgan slipped into her gorgeous dress with the help from her mother and grandmother. She was a vision. With sweet hugs and heartwarming moments between her and her family, she was ready to have a first look with her grandfather and take some portraits before she was headed to have her first look with Mike.

The First Look

Mike waited under a beautiful tree waiting to see his bride for the first time that day. Morgan was thrilled to step up behind him and have him turn to see her. Mike seemed like he had waited for this moment for his whole life. I always love a first look moment because it allows couples to have more intimate time together and with their photographer to capture gorgeous moments so that they can get straight to their party after their ceremony. At Home Wedding Couples Portraits

After a very happy first look moment, it was time for Mike and Morgan to capture their portraits around this home in Lexington, South Carolina before they would say I DO! This at home wedding day was a home offered by long time family friends of Morgan’s family and it was a perfect location for this outdoorsy couple. Right on Lake Murray, it felt like a magical place. Morgan and Mike beamed together and their love was so evident based on their portraits.

Family Portraits

I loved that Mike and Morgan chose to have their family portraits before their evening wedding ceremony because it allowed them to jump right into their reception celebration. Morgan and Mike are so loved and I appreciate every small and intimate wedding when you can see that love so much more.

The At Home Summer Evening Wedding

Right at the sun started to set, Morgan stepped down to meet Mike at their ceremony. In front of all their loved ones, they shared some of the most heartfelt vows to each other. Love is absolutely real and it was more than easy to see with these two. After exchanging their vows and rings, they sealed the deal with a kiss and were married!

To help celebrate this union, their guests gave them a rose petal shower!

The Reception Decor

Right on the deck of this home in Lexington, South Carolina, Savannah captured their lovely dinner details. The deck at this Lake Murray home was perfect for all their guests. It felt intimate with a touch of Luxury. For dinner, they chose to have a cozy Alodia’s Italian course. Their planner, Lydea with Sophisticated Events SC had every detail flawless for this couples

The Reception

Mike and Morgan celebrated with all their close friends and family. They ate, had their first dance, cut their O’Hara’s Bakery cake, and even shared their signature cocktails mixed up by A Splash of Cola. Even during their reception, they got to celebrate Morgan’s grandmother’s birthday with a sweet surprise cake. After the first part of their celebration, they shared ice cream together and finished their night with some sweet toasts from their loved ones.
