Lamaria’s Boudoir

Before we captured Lamaria on camera during their boudoir session, they made it very clear that this session was to capture the very essence of their identity. Lamaria is non binary and they wanted to capture their feminine and masculine side and that I absolutely loved. Being a boudoir photographer in Columbia, SC is so special because I’m doing more than taking empowering photographs. I’m helping people share their identity and the ways that make them feel wonderful in their own skin. People like Lamaria can see their photographs and feel empowered to share their journeys with their body and mindset and it’s such a beautiful thing.

The Boudoir Ensemble

When we got down to boudoir business, Lamaria wanted to express their feminine side first. With a green bra and panty set, Lamaria was feelin CUTE and so in tune with the duality of their personhood. And with just a simple outfit change, the more masculine parts of Mari was ON display more clearly to the viewer. In this masculine boudoir look, they were SERVING the looks. I loved seeing these two sides of this empowered, gorgeous human; someone brave enough to explore every part of themselves and who they are. 

As if the first two looks that Lamaria wore weren’t incredible enough, seeing the duality of masculinity and femininity in this implied nudity & white sheet ensemble was divine.
