Intimate South Carolina Wedding
Nathan & Kat

Sometimes you come across one of those couples that you just know were meant for each other. Today’s featured intimate South Carolina wedding is the wedding day of a couple like that. These are the kind of people who were meant to be, and there’s no doubt about it.

Today, I’m proud to introduce to you, Mr. and Mrs. Brick, and their stunning, intimate South Carolina wedding held on Kat’s, the bride, family’s land and farmhouse. This land and home have been in the bride’s family since the 1700’s, so it was an extra special spot for her marriage to Nathan.

Kat and Nathan have been together for ten years now. Yes, you read that correctly, ten years. They were attached at the hip one month into meeting in 2007 and have been together ever since. It was always a running joke between them and the families about when they would get married, but it wasn’t ever a concern. Remember how I said everyone knew they were meant to be? When you take that into account, ten years doesn’t seem so odd, does it? In fact, I kind of like it. They are sure about each other; they are certain about forever.

Intimate South Carolina Wedding

Kat and Nate have been each other best friend’s for so long, so it just made sense that they decided to have a more intimate wedding centered around them and only them. That meant, for them, to not have a wedding party on either side and to spend 30 minutes with me at sunset for portraits (insert praise hands emojis here), and it was perfect.

From the moment I arrived, everything had already come together beautifully. Kat was flawless; Nathan calm and excited. The details captured the spirit of their relationship so well, yet they were also so magazine-worthy. This intimate South Carolina wedding ceremony was outside her family’s home and poignant. Their wedding reception was full of delicious BBQ and a stunning set of couples portraits. They ended the night with a sparkler exit.

All-in-all, it was perfect. I hope you enjoy my favorite frames from this intimate South Carolina wedding, and that you leave the newlyweds a bit of congrats in the comments below!!

So obviously you can see we started off pretty perfectly. All of Kat’s attention to soft feminine details really shows off their southern wedding’s charm.

I loved Kat’s unique details like rosemary, a custom ring box, and a stunning veil. Honestly, this wedding’s ascetics were my JAM!

And Kat’s shoes were the *perfect* pop of color!! They photographed beautifully in the natural light from the farm house’s window. I’ve always been a lover of detail shots, and I always will be after these!

Kat’s gown from Evelyn’s Bridal & Formal Wear was absolutely perfect for her and the day’s look. If you know Kat personally, you know that you won’t often see her in a dress or makeup of any kind. She’s just that kind of lady; down-to-earth and unconcerned about the everyday frivolous stuff, but on her wedding day, she was dressed to the NINES!!

Don’t you just love this lace detail on her wedding dress?

Oh, and Nathan’s fashion sense didn’t fail to show up and show OUT either!!

So get this cuteness: Kat and Nate have raised a few squirrels together, and she bought him these ‘Good Luck Socks’ for their wedding day. How adorable, right?!

While the couple got ready in adjoining rooms, their friends and musicians warmed up in the great room of the farmhouse. We spent the morning photographing details and getting ready while the sweet sounds of live bluegrass played from the other room. The perfect touch for Kat and Nate, I’d say. intimate south carolina wedding

Amy Schaming and Jessica Roth did an incredible job on Kat’s bridal look. Her flawless face and hair stayed ALL day—despite the heat—for this intimate South Carolina wedding. intimate wedding photographer columbia sc intimate wedding photographer south carolina

Kat shed a few tears saying her vows to Nathan because, after ten years together, the promise for forever means just a little bit more.elopement packages elopement photography packages elopement wedding photography sc photographers

And now for my favorite part of this day, portraits of the couple in the sunset. I just loved capturing this intimate South Carolina wedding.sc photography

Kat and Nate let me know ahead of their day that gorgeous photos of them together were their top priority, and we planned 30 minutes of gorgeous portraits at sunset into their timeline. I watched the light like a HAWK during their reception to find that PERFECT moment of sunset, and thankfully, we caught it!columbia sc wedding photographers wedding photographers columbia sc

So because these two sweet lovebirds prioritized their portraits, we were able to capture stunning ones like these. Canvas-worthy images of their love; this is what it’s all about, y’all!!!

GOOD LOOKIN couple, amiright?

Nat likes to collect antique coins, so Kat bought him two authentic coins made into cufflinks for their intimate wedding day. It was a super unique and refreshing way to incorporate the groom’s personality into his look!
Oh, Kat. You’re taking my breath away. She was the epitome of a lovely southern bride.

Oh, did I forget to mention that these two laugh together so easily?!

And Nate is not bad at doing the most random things at the most random of moments to bring out Kat’s infectious joy.

SOMEBODY GET ME A CANVAS OF THIS ALREADY!

And now for the party!! columbia sc

Kat made homemade candles as her wedding favors for her guests, and I thought it was such a unique and sweet touch.

Fancy cheese plates are always a win for me!

The reception’s meal was good ol’ BBQ, and it was SO DELICIOUS!!

Both Nathan and Kat’s father gave speeches and toasts before they cut the cake. It was so sweet to hear all of the happiness and love in their family’s voices.

Oh, and remember when I mentioned before about Kat and Nate’s squirrels? Well, you see, they are both huge animal lovers and have quite a few members of their fur family. Each of their babies are represented with their own figurine on the cake!! How cool, right?!

Of course, we finished the evening in a shower of sparklers! elopement photography packages best places to elope

Congratulations again to Nathan and Kat for finally tying the knot!! You two have been such a joy to work with throughout this entire process, and it was such an honor for me to be there with you on your intimate wedding day. Thank you for having me, and thank you for truly caring about your images! Clients like you are my dream clients, and I cannot wait to watch your love and fur family grow!

Jess

cheers
