All you have to do is love on each other, leave the rest to me!

The purpose of wedding photography experience with Jessica Hunt Photography is...

TO CREATE AN EXPERIENCE THAT YOU WILL NEVER

forget

BOTH IN PERSON AND THROUGH YOUR WEDDING DAY’S IMAGES.

I believe that wedding photography is one of the most important parts of your day, it’s more than just images. It is your memories and love frozen in time; saved for you to go back to and feel all of those feelings again.

The photography of a wedding day leads the day to unfold, and I work hard to plan ahead of time to make your wedding day flawless by creating a customized timeline for you and your wedding party to follow.

As one of my couples, you receive access to a private client lounge that will educate and walk you through every step of the wedding photography process. This site is only for my brides and grooms, and is JAM packed full of every little thing you need to consider while planning both your wedding photography me and your wedding day. Things like an extensive list of premier wedding vendors and example timelines are just a few things I’ve put together to help my couples plan for and create the most stress-free and beautiful wedding day possible.

Creating timeless images unique to your love story means more to me than anything else as a photographer.

Because I care about you and your wedding day. You’re not just another couple to me

What other COUPLES are saying

 aren’t really you...

I sincerely believe that every couple and wedding day is unique and deserves to be approached that way. I believe that those corny Pinterest poses we’ve all seen a million times are not a real, genuine representation of love, because not every relationship and couple are the same. Not every wedding day and ceremony is the same.

So, when awesome clients come to me to photograph their wedding, I start off the experience by getting to know them. Either over coffee or a few craft beers, our relationship starts off by getting to know one another. My couple receive three comprehensive questionnaires throughout their wedding photography experience with me to ensure I learn every little thing about them, their love story, and the unique parts of your day.

It is important to me to create beautiful, timeless images of each wedding day that represent the couple and their unique love.

Beautiful wedding images are not a ‘one size fits all’ affair, and neither am I as a photographer.

THOSE PINTEREST POSES

I have a set and proven approach to wedding days that I’ve crafted over years of experience shooting weddings, but I work with each of my couples to adapt my knowledge to what they want from their wedding photography.

So if you’re feeling that connection and the fuzzy feeling reading this, then we might just be the perfect fit!

From the jump, we start to get to know each other on a deeper level and plan for every aspect of your photography experience. There is so much more to wedding photography than just showing up and taking pictures, and I make sure to be intimately involved with each of my couples’ wedding day.

I truly desire to create imagery that represents you and your unique relationship and love for each other.

After your comprehensive questionnaires and engagement session or consult, we will both know each other better, and this will ensure natural, comfortable photos on your wedding day.

So, by the time wedding day approaches, we’ll feel more like friends and that creates the perfect setup for wonderful images from the wedding day!

On your wedding day, I’ll work from the getting ready moments of the day till the grand exit at the reception. My team and I will work quickly and proficiently as we lead you into having the best day of your lives devoid of stress or frustration.

My wedding photography process is extensive and in-depth and has been shaped by 7 years of experience shooting weddings. Each tip given to you, each timeline created, and each questionnaire sent has specific purpose to help me get to know you intimately and photograph your day in a way that reflects your love story.

My process with my clients begins at our first consults and lasts a lifetime

Do you have insurance?

Yes, we do! Both Jessica and the business are insured on many different levels, and if you need a copy of this information for your venue, just let Jessica know!

How many images will I receive after my session or wedding?

Jessica will cull out (or delete) test shots and duplicates or anything that would waste your time. We do like to include as many photos as we can, even ones that aren't personal favorites because we know those shots tell the story of your wedding day. Jessica loves to include bloopers, too! A typical wedding ends up with about 75-100 per hour, which is more than one photo per minute.

Will I receive EVERY image you take on my wedding day?

No, you won’t, and trust me, you do not even want them all! Jessica will go through and pick out the best of the best that represent the story of your day best. Blurry or too dark shots will be removed, so when your gallery arrives, it only holds the best images possible from your wedding day.

What type of gear do you use?

Jessica shoots on an arsenal of professional Canon equipment during your wedding day and session, and not to worry, we have backups on backups ready just in case! Just remember, the camera is just a tool for your photographer and is not as important as the person using it.

Are you comfortable shooting in dark areas or with flash?

Yes! Jessica is ready with a variety of lights and flashes for your wedding day, and we are ready to shoot in any reception location with a little bit of set up time.

Who is your second photographer?

Jessica’s second shooter may vary at weddings depending on who is available. We work with a small local group of equally talented wedding photographers who all know the business inside and out. We promise the second shooter will always be just as awesome as Jess!

Why do we have so many questionnaires repeating what we’ve already talked to Jess about?

Funny you should ask, actually! Jessica loves to get to know each of her couples personally, but sometimes, with 25+ couples, the details get a little jumbled. We love to have these personal details about you and your love story written down so Jessica can back and reference them before your sessions and wedding day.

How do we get our wedding published?

I’m so glad you asked! We love seeing our clients and real weddings published, and we love that you want that for your day too! The easiest way to get published is two-fold. First, be sure to fill out your ‘Wedding Vendor Questionnaire’ completely when it’s sent to your inbox a month before your wedding date. The more information Jessica has about your vendors, the best chance of getting your wedding featured. And secondly, be sure to book a healthy 8 hour timeline with Jessica on your wedding day so our team has enough time to document every little thing!

How do we properly credit you as our photographer when sharing our images on social media?

Gosh, you’re the best! Thank you so much for asking such an important question! The best way to show your photographer love is to be sure that when sharing your images, you are tagging Jessica in the images AND leaving a link to ‘www.jessicahuntphotography.com’ underneath each one in the description. We love celebrating with your friends and family through your images, so be sure to tag Jess in each post!

You can find Jessica on social media and add her as a friend right here:

What if I have a whole Pinterest board of poses and exact images I want to replicate during my sessions or wedding day?

Actually, we encourage you to avoid this! Pinterest can be great for getting inspiration for poses and wedding days, but often those shots to not take into account who YOU are and who YOU love. We here at JHP don’t want to just put you in a cookie-cutter pose that every couple has done before. We want to take beautiful images that show off your love and your relationship, so feel free to leave your Pinterest app untouched for now.

How long does an engagement session last?

Your engagement session will last 1 to 1.5 hours on the location or locations of your choice. But, not to worry, if you and your fiancé are ROCKING it and want to keep shooting or if Jessica has not captured everything she wants to for you, the session will last as long as we need it to!

Can we travel for my engagement session?

Absolutely!! Jessica LOVES to travel and explore new locations, so if you have an idea for a location outside of the greater Columbia area, let’s do it! 60 miles of complimentary travel come with your session’s investment, and additional travel above 60 miles will be billed at .52$ a mile.

Do we really need professional hair and makeup for the engagement session?

Yes, actually! It may seem a little excessive at first, but making sure you look and feel as beautiful as possible is super important for your images! When you feel pampered and extra-confident after getting your makeup professionally done, it will show in your images and make you look just that much better. Also, you only get engaged once, right? Why not make the experience a little better and truly embrace celebrating this important time in your life? Trust me, you won’t regret it!

What if it rains on our scheduled day?

If the forecast calls for rain consistently before your scheduled date, Jessica will get in contact with you about moving your session about 48 hours before your session. Engagement sessions are the one thing we can move without too much hassle throughout this experience, so if Jessica thinks a sunnier, bright day will be better for your images, she will be in contact with you to reschedule your date and time.

What if we have some super specific creative requests for our engagement session?

What IS a bridal session?

A bridal session is a session with Jessica and just the bride. This session is mean to document in every way possible the bride and her gown and details, and many brides order a canvas along with this session to display at their reception. You absolutely do not have to have a bridal session, but if you’re looking for a way to make your experience just a bit more special, this is a perfect way to extend the celebration.

previous

Can we travel for my bridal session?

Your canvas portrait will be ready for pick after a quality check is complete. Most canvases are shipped to the studio within 2 to 3 weeks after being ordered.

How do I choose which image to use in my bridal portrait canvas?

We suggest you choose your favorite shot from your bridal session that shows you off in your gown and that you feel best about. Full length, vertical images are our suggestion, but this is YOUR portrait, girl, so feel free to pick whatever photo of yourself that you love the most.

previous

Will my dress get dirty during my bridal session?

We do everything we can to not get your dress dirty during your bridal session, but we encourage you to schedule your last cleaning and steaming of your gown to be after your bridal session just in case.

Do I need my hair and makeup done for my bridal portraits?

Yes, you do! We encourage you to have the same vendors working on your day help you with your bridal portraits so you and them can have a trial run before your wedding.

previous

Do I need a bouquet for my bridal portraits?

Yes, you will need one! Thought we can take your bridal portraits without any florals, there’s nothing like a gorgeous bouquet to complete your bridal look for these forever photos.

previous

Can I bring someone with me for my session?

Oh, honey, YES!! We HIGHLY recommend bringing at least one to two women or friends you want to celebrate with! Great ideas for this would be your mom or your Maid of Honor.

How much time does usually take for photos after the ceremony?

Usually family formal portraits, full wedding party portraits, and the couples portraits will take exactly an hour to complete after the ceremony if none of those images were scheduled and taken ahead of time.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

What is a First Look, exactly?

Ah, our favorite question! A First Look is when the couple opts to see each other before the ceremony for a variety of reasons. The main reason is so the couple can enjoy their reveal moment to each other in an intimate and personal way, instead of that moment happening in front of hundreds of family and friends. A First Look before the ceremony also allows for Jessica to capture all of your portraits as a couple and full wedding party together to get you to the reception a full 40 minutes faster!

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

So, why would we have a First Look again?

Okay, so get this. First Look equals getting to the party faster. Not only will you receive more photos of you two together as a couple, but you’ll also get all of that craziness out of the way before the ceremony so you can get right to the reception.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

How many family shot requests can I send you?

You’re welcome to send as many requests as you have when that question comes up in your questionnaire set, but remember, the more you request, the longer it will be between your ceremony and reception announcement.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

Can we travel from location to location during our wedding day?

Yes, you’re absolutely welcome to have different locations for getting ready, the ceremony, and the reception, but we recommend staying in one place for your day. IF we need to travel between locations, the travel time will count towards your continuous wedding day coverage.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

Will you eat at the wedding?

Yes, the JHP team will eat during the reception, but only after all of the reception activities are over or the night has reached a lull for the meal. Don’t worry, Jessica grabbing a few bites of your delicious food will not make her miss anything! If anything, those few bites are going to make your wedding day images even BETTER!

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

What if it rains on my wedding day?

If it rains on your wedding day, do not fret! Jessica has photographed many rainy wedding days, and the JHP team is ready to handle these adjustments. Jessica will be in contact with you the days leading up to the wedding to help you plan and adjust to with the weather.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

How long will it be after my wedding day until I see my images?

Your wedding day’s images will be completed and uploaded into your gallery within 6 to 8 weeks from your wedding date. They could even be delivered before that, you never know!! ;)

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

Can I add on more time to my wedding day’s timeline if I need to?

Yes, you’re absolutely welcome to add on additional hours to your wedding day’s timeline! Just shoot Jess an email, and we will make that adjustment for your and update your invoice.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

What are the benefits of having a second shooter?

Having a second shooter is always a good idea! Another photographer there on your day will allow Jessica to focus on those ‘have to have’ shots while the other photographer documents candid and detail focused shots of your day. A second photographer is also always a great idea to have if you’re having a large or unique ceremony, as two cameras can always capture more than one.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

Even if I don’t have a second photographer, can Jessica still capture everything we want or need?

Absolutely! Jessica is completely fine with being the solo shooter on a wedding day, and your gallery won’t be missing a thing!

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

How does Jessica capture the groom’s reaction to see the bride for the first time without having a secondary photographer?

After 7 years of shooting weddings, Jessica has worked out a plan for this situation and is able to capture both the bride and groom’s reaction in this moment simultaneously.

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

We’ve decided we want to add on a secondary photographer to our day, how do we do that?

Just let Jessica know you’ve decided to add on a secondary photographer at least 2 months before your date, and we will take care of that for you!

previous

/ next

X CLOSE

Why does Jessica need so much time before the ceremony for photos?

For almost every wedding timeline, Jessica will schedule at least 3 to 4 hours of photography coverage before the ceremony to cover documenting your details, you getting ready, the wedding party’s portraits, the venue and ceremony location, and any of your special requests. Though it may seem unnecessary, when you see how your gallery tells the story of your day from start to finish, you’ll be so glad Jessica started photography coverage so early!
