Ben was selling books at a book reading event for one of Carleen’s colleagues and met met and chatted it up! Later, she showed up at his bookstore, Odd Bird Books and strangely enough, had no idea they were literally neighbors until weeks after
that. Ben started hanging out with mutual friends of hers and finally they started to date!

Later when they were at Columbia’s Saturday Soda City Market, he popped the question!

Now that Ben and Carleen are engaged, they needed engagement photography to freeze this time in their life to look back on forever. After booking with Savannah, JHP’s associate photographer, they walked through downtown Columbia where they met to capture their portraits. Later on, Savannah met them at the old location of Odd Bird Books where it truly all began. The Arcade Mall had the most gorgeous golden hour sunlight coming through. That sunlight in the area made for a perfect place to finish telling this love story.
