The Yards Brewing Company Engagement Photos
We started their session at Yards Brewing Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Yards is one of Missy and Jessica’s favorite breweries in town so it only made sense that we started their session there. Same sex engagement photos (or really any engagement photos) are always just a bit more perfect when photographed in a place special to the couple.

How to Choose Your Engagement Session Location
I always love it when couples choose a location that means a little bit more to them than just a standard public park for portraits. After reading the blog post I wrote for my clients on how to choose their engagement session location, Missy and Jess decided Yards Brewing Company would be the perfect start for their session and Philadelphia engagement photos.

After a quick outfit change, the couple and I headed to Philadelphia City Hall for more portraits of them together during their engagement photography session. Philadelphia is a special city for them and integral to their love story. We just had to make sure to capture some of its most iconic sites in their same sex engagement photos.

The LOVE Statue in Philadelphia
Directly across from Philadelphia City Hall, is LOVE Park. LOVE Park gets its nickname from Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE statue, which has resided in the space almost continuously since 1976. You can also find statue’s like this one in New York City and in many major cities across the United States. Cool, right?
Philadelphia at Night
After the sun set, we wrapped up their downtown Philadelphia engagement photos outside of Philadelphia City Hall amongst the lights and fountains. It was a magical end to a perfect session exploring Philadelphia with these two lovely women. I absolutely cannot wait to serve them as their Charleston SC wedding photographer next year.
