Early Morning USC Horseshoe Intimate Ceremony
Sometimes, the big weddings aren’t for everyone. It’s couples like Melissa and Hunter that chose to have a very small and private wedding with just their immediate family members that still have the most special day. Melissa and Hunter had an early morning USC Horseshoe intimate ceremony to celebrate their love. The USC Horseshoe holds a special place in this couple’s heart so I’m more than excited to share their wedding day with you. Our JHP associate photographer, Savannah, nailed capturing their day. The Family Portraits
When Savannah first arrived to the USC Horseshoe at 10AM, we did thinks just a bit different than how we normally start a wedding day. The most important thing to Hunter and Melissa was their family, so we started out with family portraits right away. After Hunter and his family were done in front of Savannah’s camera, they went to hide inside for Melissa and her family to capture their portraits. They opted out of a first look moment which is A Okay. The surprise would be for the ceremony.
The USC Horseshoe Wedding Ceremony
At Rutledge Chapel, Hunter waited inside for his lovely bride to walk down the aisle to meet him at the alter. He was so giddy and could barely contain his happiness. Melissa made her way down the aisle with her father to meet her soon to be husband and the smile on her face was absolutely contagious. I know Savannah was grinning from ear to ear being able to witness their love first hand.

Once at the alter, each of the couple’s mothers lit a candle for the unity candle and recited prayers. Even Melissa’s god daughter came up to read a passage that was special to this couple. After reciting their vows, they lit their unity candle, exchanged rings, and sealed the deal with a kiss! That’s was I call MARRIAGE!
After The Ceremony
Immediately after the ceremony, more family portraits as one big family were taken. Everyone was so excited about this union that they couldn’t even leave Melissa and Hunter’s side. But, it was time for this couple to have portraits of just the two of them as husband and wife!
The USC Horseshoe Wedding Portraits
It was finally time to capture this love first hand! Melissa and Hunter were clearly nothing but happy based on their photos, but in person, they were goofy and silly and SO laid back. A wedding photographer’s dream! Portraits began right in front of Rutledge Chapel on the Horseshoe. To tie their wedding day look together, a gorgeous blue and white bouquet created by Brides and Blooms rested in their hands. After taking a couple more portraits with the gorgeous Horseshoe setting in Columbia, SC this couple was ready to begin their life as husband and wife!
