How it all began, from the bride… “Nick and I met at church and actually became friends when we realized our cats were almost identical and that we were both “crazy cat people”. I was interested in him, but realized we were definitely “just friends” when he told me he had a date with another girl! That date didn’t go well (PRAISE THE LORD!) and he brought over Taco Bell the next night (the way to any girls heart) and told me he was interested in me. For our first official date, we went “fruit batting” – which is basically exactly what it sounds like, where you hit fruit with a baseball bat. He told me our date was a surprise, so I was in a little black dress getting fruit juice all over me! It was a blast though.”
And here we are today, a little over a week after Nick and Halli’s elegant Southern charcoal and maroon wedding in Hartsville, South Carolina. They are now happy newlyweds, and I had the incredible honor of being their wedding photographer. Though there was no ‘fruit-batting’ at the wedding, it was still a meaningful and fun affair.
From the moment I met these two, I could tell their love was REAL. It was so easy to see in just the way they walked side by side, or Halli’s little smiles towards Nick. They are truly a perfect match, and their wedding day in Hartsville, South Carolina was pretty close to perfect.
I’m so honored to share Nick & Halli’s elegant Southern charcoal and maroon wedding today! Enjoy!
Halli and her twin sister; her wedding day was especially special for them.
Loved Nick’s details; he and his groomsmen looked amazing in charcoal and maroon.
All the ladies were STUNNING in maroon, but Halli stole the show, obviously.
Halli and Nick decided to pray and read each other love notes before their ceremony. Not a dry eye walked out of that room, let me tell you.
Wedding gifts!!
Now, it’s time to get married!!
THE KISS!
Caught this little moment between the couple RIGHT after they got married…
Coolest. Wedding. Party. Ever.

Their bride and groom portraits were to DIE for. Gosh, they are just perfect!
And now on to their fun reception at the Hartsville Country Club!
To Nick & Halli,
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Being your wedding photographer was such a joy, and I’m so happy to have gained two new life-long friends. Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Vause!
