How They Met Before Their Outdoor Elopement

Alexandra and Pete met online on Match.com in late September of 2018. They first met up for a date on October 6th, and it was an instant attraction! They matched up perfectly as they were both transplants to the area- of Hispanic background; he’s Cuban-American, Alexandra Nicaraguan, in their mid 40’s and looking for a solid, committed relationship. Pete is a Jersey guy and Alexandra is a Cali girl who both had lived many years in Miami and still maintain strong roots there.

After many unsuccessful relationships, they had both decided it was time to just focus on finding the right one. No more wasting time! They knew what they wanted and they liked what they saw. It is so serendipitous because they are so uniquely different yet incredibly similar. When they met each other, they were a bit taken a-back that they had met, because what are the chances that they meet someone so similar in backgrounds, here?! They simply smiled and knew.

The Proposal Story

It was mid -December and Alexandra was in the process of transferring jobs to move out to Lexington county ,very stressed and preoccupied with all the things she needed to get done. One day after a long afternoon of shopping for family Christmas gifts, her and Pete were sitting on the living room couch, he got down on one knee and pulled out a wedding ring box and asked, will you marry me?! Alexandra was instantly a mess and said , yes, of course! Later Pete said he kept waiting for the right moment when she was relaxed and a bit distracted from everything else and he just decided to do it when it was just the two of them alone. Alexandra thought it was perfect!

When They Knew

Alexandra knew she was in love with Pete when she realized how much he made her laugh and how much he made her soul smile. Pete fills her with joy! He can be corny and goofy, he went out of his way to please Alexandra and indulge her crazy antics. For example, she loves posting on Instagram and though he’s not crazy about it, he indulges her. He’s like that about (almost, lol) everything!

Pete knew it was simply when after working 14 hour days, he still wanted to drive two hours to be with her! If that’s not love then I don’t know what is. Even after years of being a Columbia, South Carolina wedding photographer!
