Today I am excited to share with you Dustin and Shannon’s River Road and Jasmine Houses and Gardens Wedding in Columbia, SC! This beautiful February wedding day was everything the couple dreamed of and more! From the fake snow exit to a heartfelt ceremony as the sun set, every little detail and moment was just flawless!
The Proposal
Dustin and Shannon met in 2006 and started dating in 2015. One week last year, Dustin took Shannon to New York for a week-long vacation and surprised her with an EPIC Niagara Fall proposal. I’ll let her tell you about it…
Shannon said, “Dustin whisked me away on a week-long vacation to New York. We visited Niagara Falls, on both the American and Canadian sides. While we were on the Canadian side of the falls, we took a self-guided tour beneath the falls. In one of the tunnels beneath the falls, we happened to be all alone. And with the water crashing and pounding around us, Dustin asked me to be his wife. I swear my heart was pounding harder than the water above us. It was a truly magical moment, that I will never forget.”
The Wedding Day
Dustin and Shannon wanted to host an intimate, sweet wedding day where all of their friends and family could join them in celebrating the joining of their lives together. They did that by hosting their event at the lovely River Road and Jasmine Houses and Gardens wedding venue and by thinking through every little detail about their day. The couple loves to work on projects and crafts together, and Dustin even built the display that held their wedding party favors!!
On their wedding day, Shannon wore pearl necklace that her mother and Dustin purchased together. Along with a few very important and meaningful pieces of jewelry. Shannon’s gown was purchased at Evelyn’s bridal in Lugoff, South Carolina and featured some of the most unique lace detailing, like, EVER! The couple also designed and put together their invitation suite with the bride’s mother instead of leaving the design and craft up to someone else. They signed their marriage license with handmade custom pens that Dustin’s groomsman made for them. And in true February in South Carolina fashion they exited their wedding under a shower of fake snow thrown by family and friends. How cool, right?!
The Beginning of Forever
All in all this wedding day was a joy for me to photograph and be a part of! Shannon and Dustin are so truly in love (wait till you see their portraits!!!), and I am so excited to be sharing their wedding day images with you today. I hope you enjoy my favorite frames from Dustin and Shannon’s River Road and Jasmine Houses and Gardens wedding in Irmo, South Carolina! Be sure to leave the happy couple a comment of congratulations in the comments below if you love their wedding day images as much as I do!!
How incredible is this invitation suite that Dustin and Shannon designed and created themselves?! I was shocked when Shannon told me how they put these together; they look SO luxury and expensive!
Oh, Shannon, you’re SO beautiful!!! I loved finding a moment to just photograph her alone during the wedding day.
We set up a ‘First Look’ for Shannon and her father, and it was a sweet, emotional moment.
I LOVE Shannon’s smile in this next one; it says it all! She was SO truly happy to be walking down the aisle towards the love of her life!
Officially married!!! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Boling!!!
Before we got the party started at the reception, we took a few minutes to photograph the couple as the sun set behind them. If you’ve followed me for a bit, you know that I LOVE shooting during that last hour before the sun sets. Usually known to photographers as ‘golden hour’, and my favorite time of day to photograph in!
Then to the party!!!
