In Cosette’s Own Words

I have always had a love hate relationship with my body. From a very young age I often felt like I had never seen another body shape like mine. Even now I feel that way with social media at times when it comes to plus size models.

I love my body because it does so many amazing things and has kept me alive for a long time. Yet at times I am stuck on those aspects that I don’t like such as my stomach and legs. As I have gotten older I have learned that no body is going to be identical and this one was made special for me and is perfect how it is.

The Body Acceptance Journey

I can set goals for myself and work hard but throughout the process I also need to accept that there are always going to be things I don’t like about my physical appearance. It doesn’t change who I am or my character- It’s purely a vessel for the other things that make me so special. I am far from loving my body how it is, but its a called a journey for a reason. Thank god my husband loves me completely how I am and can’t keep his hands off me! Im working on speaking more positive affirmations to myself daily.

Face Your Fears!

The portraits really were a huge step for my journey. This was the first step for feeling vulnerable and exposed in my skin. We have all had that moment when someone takes a Columbia, SC boudoir photo and we sort of tense because we fear it will end up being unflattering. I am the same way! For me I knew I had no reason to be scared of stepping in front of a camera and letting every part of me be seen. It was really meant to be a way for me to face my fears!

The South Carolina Boudoir Photo Experience Was Awesome

I was so excited yet nervous before our boudoir photoshoot but literally Jess was great at walking me through the process and explaining everything and before I even changed I wasn’t nervous. THE SOUTH CAROLINA BOUDOIR EXPERIENCE WAS AWESOME! I truly didn’t want it to end. Initially, I was nervous because I had never done anything like that before but the second we started catching up it faded away completely. My favorite part was getting my makeup done and chit chatting with Jess and Tamika. It was like being back with girlfriends just hanging out. The atmosphere was just so fun and it was exactly what I needed.

Constant Praise!

I do think after Jess hyping me up for over an hour, my views changed. She constantly praised me, complimented me, and made me laugh. I felt like such a baddie after. These photos will go to serve as proof my body is perfect. All the years of feeling depressed and defeated because of my appearance was not worth it.

A Great South Carolina Boudoir Experience!

Even during the shoot with Jess showing me pictures unedited, something sparked that made me love them. It was a new way of seeing myself and I think its important everyone gets that moment in life.
