Every couple is a little different. Every love is a little different. Every single wedding day is different, too, and as a Columbia SC wedding photographer, I’ve been able to experience every type of couple and learn that these differences between each couple and wedding day are ALWAYS a good thing.
I always want to encourage my couples to be THEMSELVES, to embrace these differences. Kat and Nate are definitely that type of couple. They have been dating for TEN YEARS (!!!!), and finally have decided to tie the knot. They are getting married early next year, but before the big day, you already know we had to have a Columbia SC engagement session!
Kat and Nate can definitely be called animal lovers, as they have three dogs, a cat, and two squirrels they recently rescued. Their three sweet pups who joined us for their engagement session in their backyard. Yep, you read that right, we didn’t go anywhere fancy for their session, just enjoyed a few minutes of their love in their own BACKYARD! See what I’m talking about? Every couple is different, and it’s what makes my job FUN.
Usually when a client suggests their backyard for a session, I’d shy right away from the idea since I haven’t seen the area yet to make sure it will photograph well. Yet, when Kat told me they’d prefer something a bit more laid back, I immediately agreed because I could tell just a few minutes in their backyard was perfect for THEIR Columbia SC engagement. It was perfect for them and their love. Kat didn’t need a flowy dress and a bouquet from a top floral shop in the area, and Nat didn’t want (or need, tbh) a three piece suit and tie. They just needed a casual few minutes to stop and celebrate their love, and that’s what we did.
Enjoy their Columbia SC engagement session, and be sure to leave this happy couple some love in the comments!
Oh, Kat, you’re so dang beautiful…
Their laughs and smiles came easily…
Attractive couple ALERT…
I just LOVE Kat’s unique engagement ring! It fits her perfectly.
Then the pups joined us for a few frames, because what’s an engagement session without puppies, really?
