701 Whaley Bridal Portraits

I am excited to share with you Shelley’s 701 Whaley bridal portraits. Shelley married her sweetheart Dru this past weekend in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at The Ole Oak Barn in Little Mountain, South Carolina. A few weeks before their wedding day, Shelley, her mother and I got together at 701 Whaley to photograph her as a bride for the first time!

Shelley wanted to have an image of her in her gown to display in a special frame at her wedding reception, and we had a great time together photographing her bridal portraits around 701 Whaley.

The Tradition

Some brides choose to have bridal portraits taken, and some brides choose not to. It’s all about what kind of bride you want to be! It’s a bit of a Southern tradition for brides to have their bridal portraits taken prior to their wedding day to ensure they can have a portrait printed and framed to display at their reception. Often, brides gift the bridal portrait to her parents after the wedding day to display in their home!

The Look and Vendors

I hope you enjoy this look into how stunning Shelley looked in her Maggie Sottero gown from New York Bride and Groom down today! A gorgeous bouquet from White House Wedding Flowers complimented Shelley’s bridal look flawlessly, and Maygen Ray from Caché Hair Salon‘s gorgeous bridal hair and makeup looked stunning on Shelley, too. 701 Whaley is the perfect backdrop for both wedding photos and bridal portraits. I am so excited with how beautifully Shelley’s 701 Whaley bridal portraits turned out! Enjoy!
