After nine years together, Will and Erica said their vows to one another under a setting sun and surrounded by friends and family at their beautiful backyard South Carolina wedding. Erica and Will are a perfect match who value each other and their families above all else.
The Ceremony
Erica wore a stunning gown from New York Bride and Groom and her mother’s veil. (You can go see her full bridal session HERE.)Will opted out of wearing a tie, which fit his down-to-earth vibe (and the backyard wedding theme) perfectly. The couple decided to get ready at the same church where Erica’s parents met and married. Then, they invited their friends and family to Erica’s grandmother’s backyard for their sunset ceremony.
The Story
Since Erica and Will started dating the day they graduated high school, they are very close to both sides of each other’s family. Their family was involved in every part of their wedding day, from the unique ceremony location to even having the same pianist who played for the bride’s parents’ wedding play for Will and Erica’s outdoor ceremony! There were so many unique little details and touches that the couple and their family worked into this beautiful backyard South Carolina wedding!
The Reception
Today I am sharing a few of my favorite frames from the full day, from getting ready to the ceremony to their reception at the Country Club of Newberry. They ended their evening under a shower of bubbles and with a kiss, and now, finally, Will and Erica are married!
I hope you enjoy just a small look into their backyard South Carolina wedding! Be sure to leave a ‘congratulations’ for the happy couple if you love their wedding day images in the comments below.

Erica and Will’s invitation suite and program by Colonial Printing was to die for, and I could have photographed it forever!
Erica and Will both prepared for their wedding at the same church that Erica’s mother and father had met and married! Erica’s mom helped her into her gown, and they shared a sweet moment before Erica went to reveal to her dad her wedding day look.
What a beautiful bride and her sweet parents, right? Erica’s mom and dad were a huge part of helping to plan and execute her gorgeous backyard South Carolina wedding day, and I enjoyed getting know their entire family throughout the experience.
I love everything about these beautiful gowns from Bella Bridesmaids and these lush florals from Wedding by Woolbrights. All of Erica’s girls looked beautiful and oh-so-classy.
Will was calm and happy as he prepared for the ceremony and throughout the portraits of him and his guys. He had the same content smile on his face throughout the entire day; a groom genuinely ready for his bride!
The First Look
I am so glad Erica and Will opted to have a First Look on their wedding day to see each other before their ceremony. They shared a sweet moment together before we all traveled to their ceremony location.
And a few groomsmen were peeking through the church’s windows to witness Will’s reaction to seeing Erica in her gown for the first time.
See what I mean when I say Will wore that content smile ALL day? He was so wonderfully pleased to be marrying his love!
Backyard South Carolina Wedding
Erica and Will celebrated their beautiful backyard South Carolina wedding in Erica’s grandmother’s backyard, overlooking their family’s land. As the sunset, Erica and Will said their vows, participated in a unity sand ceremony, and had their first kiss as husband and wife!
Just look at those smiles!! They are married!
As the sun was setting, we gathered the full wedding party for a few more portraits.
As the last few bits of light slipped behind the horizon, Erica and Will had a few moments to just enjoy each other’s presence during their portraits together in their beautiful backyard South Carolina wedding.
I honestly could not pick a favorite out of their portraits if I tried!! The couple both look SO happy and beautiful in ALL of these.
We paused for a photo in this specific spot for a special reason; Erica and Will have been coming to this very location every Easter for a picture together. They have YEARS of photos at this very place, and now one to match from their beautiful backyard South Carolina wedding day!
The Reception
After we snagged a few photos with Erica’s grandfather’s Cougar, the couple took a quick drive to the Country Club of Newberry for their wedding reception! Full of good food, great company, and dancing!
Will and Erica ended the night with a kiss under a shower of bubbles and cheers as they exited their wedding reception.
