The Beginning Of The Turmeric Ceremony

Following the tradition of the turmeric ceremony, all the women sat inside together preparing for the ceremony to begin. While their husbands, fathers, and brothers ate a gorgeous catered lunch outside, the women inside were preparing the turmeric paste. Along with that, the elder would mark each member’s forehead with gorgeous powders and bless each individual participating.

The turmeric ceremony in Hindu weddings as a symbol for a blessing to the couple to have a happy marital life. In Indian customs, all the married ladies of the house apply a turmeric paste called haldi to the bride and the groom in order to bless them with a long and strong relationship.
