Favorite Wedding Dresses Of 2021

2021 was full of so many amazing and beautiful wedding couples as you all have seen in my past blogs. One thing that always takes my breath away on Columbia, South Carolina wedding days though is some of the dresses I’ve seen this past year. As a Columbia, South Carolina wedding photographer, every dress or bridal ensemble I see is amazing, unique, and beautiful. But today I want to share some of my favorite wedding dresses of 2021!

The Mermaid Bodice

We all love a good mermaid bodice. These mermaids were some of my favorite from 2021! Shout out to all the lace mermaid dresses I got to capture this year. The Columbia, SC Lace House Wedding Dress was strapless and perfect for the hot summer day it was captured on. The Short Dresses

Not every dress has to be a long gown! Check out these short dresses that I’m obsessed with from this year. Each dress uniquely styled for these bride’s personalities. Short dresses are always encouraged but they’re so popular among elopements and small ceremonies.

The Suits

Enough of dresses! Hello Suits! Pants? Blazers? I think so. This gorgeous couple captured by my associate photographer, Savannah, had some of my favorite wedding day ensembles this past year. What’s not to love about women going against the social standard grain and wearing the damn pants? Their attire truly matched well with their Orville Peck inspired masks as well. Their LGBTQ+ elopement at Fleetwood’s in Asheville, NC was a perfect venue for these outfits too!

The Ball Gowns

The classic ball gown.. We all love you ball gown. How could I not be in love with these looks from Columbia, SC this past year. They’re classic for a reason and also impossible for me to overlook as some of my favorite dresses. They make every wedding day a fairy tale.

The Colorful Dresses

Say goodbye to whites and ivories! Hello colorful wedding dresses! I love that in 2021 I was able to have two weddings here at Jessica Hunt Photography that captured two different styled colors. The bright and vibrant and the neutral toned colored wedding dresses.

Of course the bright and vibrant pink dress you see here was from a colorful and loving Indian wedding that I couldn’t get enough of. But vibrant and pink aside, this nice oyster gray dress was something so unique. My associate shooter, Savannah, luckily filled in on capturing this gorgeous gown for me and I know she was absolutely in love with the quirky colored dress. You can see more of it here!

The Unique Necklines

So you’ve seen so many gorgeous dresses today. The last I want to share was this renaissance beauty! I loved the neckline and even the material. Overall this Columbia, SC indoor LGBTQ+ wedding was dreamy but this dress was even dreamier. At one point I asked the bride if she could run from me like she was the subject of renaissance painting and I was the painter. The neck line that lead off the shoulder was such a perfect touch.
