Silver Spoon Bake Shop
South Carolina Wedding Vendor

Hello there friends! I’m incredibly excited to introduce you to Erin Nobels, the owner and dreamer behind the Silver Spoon Bake Shop in Columbia, South Carolina. The Silver Spoon serves up some of the tastiest treats in the whole city, and Erin and her team also create STUNNING wedding cakes for couples all across the Southeast!

I had the honor of photographing Erin’s headshots recently, and it was so refreshing to be able to get to know her a little better. As you can see from these portraits, her smile is infectious, and she just radiates happiness and joy. I’m honored to work with her as a fellow South Carolina wedding vendor, and now, as friends. I hope you enjoy these portraits and that you take the time to read a few words from Erin herself!

Oh, and don’t forget to check out Silver Spoon Bake Shop online, on Facebook, on Twitter and on Instagram!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and Silver Spoon!

“Hi, I’m Erin. I am the owner and baker (accountant, biscuit maker, delivery driver and dishwasher) at Silver Spoon Bake Shop. We are a from-scratch bakery located in downtown Columbia on Devine Street. We have been open a little over 3 years and specialize in baked goods and treats to satisfy everyone! I have been baking nearly 10 years. I attended USC for hospitality management then went on to pastry school in New York City! I’m from a very small town in South Carolina so living in New York was a great experience for me. After working in several other bakeries, I decided I would try opening one myself. It’s been a fun journey so far, and I still enjoy getting up (really really early) and baking every day.”

How does Silver Spoon Bake Shop serve the wedding industry?

“A huge part of our business is making custom cakes! We do everything from tiered wedding cakes, cupcakes, dessert bars and grooms cakes.”

“Eat your cake! I frequently hear couples say how quickly their wedding day goes by and that they didn’t even get to eat at their wedding! I would also recommend making sure your caterer sends a few slices of cake with you to eat the next day when you are able to enjoy it more.”
“My favorite part is seeing the entire wedding (really the reception, for us) come together. When we deliver and set up a cake, usually the florist is working, photographer is working, caterer is working, the planner is working-it’s nice to all be working towards the same goal..making the day perfect for our couple.”

“When my siblings and I were younger, my parents never let us stay at wedding receptions long enough for the cake to be cut. Wedding cakes have always fascinated and amazed me. Maybe that’s why I’m in the wedding cake business now!”
And there you have it, folks! Now you’ve met your local cake baker and cookie-PRO, Erin Nobels from Silver Spoon Bake Shop! Be sure to follow along with her adventures in the South Carolina wedding industry on her social media platforms, and be sure to check back in for the next wedding vendor feature coming from Jessica Hunt Photography soon!
