LGBTQ+ Citadel Beach Club Wedding Photos

Missi and Jess were married at the Citadel Beach Club recently, and I had the extreme pleasure of being their wedding photographer for the wedding experience. Today I’m excited to show you a few of my favorite images for their wedding day in Charleston South Carolina, to tell you more about them and who they are as a couple, and to show off all of their beautiful images! The Brides Getting Ready

These two brides got ready separately from each other surrounded by their very favorite people. Each of their moms was there to help them slip into their wedding gowns and prepare for their wedding day.

LGBTQ+ Wedding Day First Look

The bride shared a quick first look prior to their ceremony to calm a few nerves and to see each other before all of the festivities began. Their joyful reactions to one another still cause my face to light up to this day when seeing these photos, and a First Look was the perfect way to start off their LGBTQ+ Citadel Beach Club wedding photos.

You might recognize these two from their downtown Philadelphia engagement session I photographed in 2019. I absolutely had such a joy getting to know them and photographing their engagement session, so I went into their wedding day knowing that it was going to be just as wonderful as our previous experience ever, and boy was it!

Citadel Beach Club Wedding Ceremony

Then it was time for their ceremony! Being the wonderful feminist clients that they are, Missy and Jess opted to have a close friend and woman officiate their ceremony. It was a heartfelt and emotional time for both of the brides, their families, and their friends. One of my favorite things about the ceremony is how they decided to dance themselves back down the aisle once they were officially and finally married!

Wedding Party Photos

After their ceremony at the Citadel Beach Club in Charleston, South Carolina, I photographed them together with their families, their wedding party, and then them alone together. I absolutely loved having all of the wonderful backdrops for photos that the Citadel Beach House provides to its couples to work with. And, I mean, what’s better than a few LGBTQ+ wedding photos on the beach? Am I right? (Answer: yes, I am right.)

We had the best time photographing their final wedding portraits together and enjoying a bit of time privately as a couple before they headed into their reception. Miss is a graduate of the Citadel, and I know it was incredibly important to her to host her wedding day at a such a prestigious venue open to only the most accomplished of Citadel graduates.

The couple shared a beautiful reception full of heartfelt toasts, a tear-jerking speech from one of the brides, and tons of dancing!

Photographing Missy, Jess, and their wedding day was definitely a highlight for me as a South Carolina wedding photographer! They are in such a wonderful, genuine couple, and I felt inspired by them both throughout each of our interactions.
