701 Whaley Wedding Photos
Iris & Brian

Brian and Iris celebrated their beautiful 701 Whaley wedding earlier this year, and I am excited to share with you some of their wedding day’s memories today! This sweet couple, their incredibly adorable dog, and By Invitation Only Event Planning and Design’s work helped to make this wedding day one of my favorites that I photographed all year! I hope that you enjoy these summer 701 Whaley wedding photos and love seeing a bit more of Iris and Brian’s wedding day!

Preparation at Pout

Iris prepared for her 701 Whaley wedding day at Pout on Devine Street in Columbia, South Carolina with a few of her family members and her wedding party attendants. After she was all dolled up and in her gown, my team and I headed to 701 Whaley (one of the best wedding venues in South Carolina, I might add!) to photograph Brian preparing to see her for the first time in her wedding day look.

First Look Moments

I am so glad that Iris and Brian opted for a First Look on their wedding day! I absolutely love wedding days with First Looks and totally have to take a moment to plug a blog post I recently wrote about how a First Look can change your entire wedding day. If you’re on the fence about making that decision on whether or not you should have a First Look on your wedding day, check out the linked blog post for all the details.

Portraits of The Couple

The couple shared their sweet wedding-day-look-reveal moment, and then we begin to photograph them together for their formal portraits. One of my favorite things about photographing Iris and Brian is the ease with which they laugh together. The entire day, both of these two wore joyful smiles and laughed together often. Photographing them was easy; I didn’t have to ask for big smiles and fake laughs once! And 701 Whaley, a great wedding venue in Columbia, SC, was the perfect backdrop for it all!

Their Four Legged Wedding Guest

You might recognize this cute little furry face in the next few photos; Iris and Brian‘s Frenchie, Jenkins, has graced the blog before with all of his cuteness. I was so happy when Iris told me that she wanted to have Jenkins come to the wedding for a few photos. He was such a cute addition to their engagement photos in Five Points, and totally stole the show for a few moments during their portraits around 701 Whaley in Columbia, South Carolina.

Wedding Party Photos

Jenkins joined us for a few more photos with the couple’s wedding party, and we had a blast photographing them and all of their friends at 701 Whaley. I absolutely love how joyful and relaxed not only Brian and Iris look in these photos, but also their entire wedding party! We truly had such a great time working through their photos before the ceremony.

Summer Evening Ceremony at 701 Whaley

Then it was time for the couple to get married! Iris and Brian had a beautiful afternoon ceremony at 701 Designed and Styled by Melanie Murphy with By Invitation Only Wedding Planning and Design. They shared a few heartfelt vows and sealed their new marriage with kiss.

Summer 701 Whaley Wedding Photos

After the ceremony, we had a few more moments to photograph the newlyweds for their summer 701 Whaley wedding photos. I absolutely love that we were able to capture a couple not only before the ceremony, but also in some gorgeous golden hour light after their marriage. Thanks for trusting me with a little extra time to make some magic, you two!

701 Whaley Wedding Reception

After all of their portraits were completed, it was time for the party! Iris and Bryan had a beautiful reception that By Invitation Only knocked out of the park. Every little detail was expertly planned and designed to perfection. Kevin Snow with Events by Snow kept the party going all night long, and the couple had a great time dancing and partying with their friends or family!

Sparkler Exit to End the Night

We finished out the night with a sparkler exit to escort a couple to their Uber after the afterparty spot. I love their big joyful smiles in these exit photos, too. They prove that what I said above was so true: Iris and Brian find joy with each other so easily and it was so evident in their photos of the day from start to finish.

 701 Whaley Wedding

I hope you enjoyed these 701 Whaley wedding photos of Iris and Brian‘s beautiful summer wedding day from earlier this year. I absolutely loved being a part of Iris and Brian‘s wedding day, and I’m so thankful by the hard work put in by all of the vendors and Melanie with By Invitation Only. Without phenomenal vendors like them, I wouldn’t be able to create magic like this! If you love Brian and Iris’s 701 Whaley wedding photos as much as I do, be sure to let the couple know in the comments below!

To Iris and Brian, y’all! Walking through this experience with you was so much fun. You two are such a joyful couple, and I feel lucky to know you and have been your South Carolina wedding photographer. Thank you for trusting me with your memories and for allowing me to gush over your sweet boy Jenkins a little too much. Ha! I hope that you treasure these images from your wedding day forever and I can’t wait to see you in front of my camera again soon! All my love!
